Things to Do in Rexburg: Creative Activities for Toddlers, Kids, Teens & Adults

Things to Do in Rexburg: Creative Activities for Toddlers, Kids, Teens & Adults

Looking for something fun to do in Rexburg, Idaho?

Whether you have a busy toddler who needs to get out of the house, kids begging for something fun after school, teenagers looking for something different to do with friends, or adults who would love a creative date night or girls' night, there are more ways to get creative in Rexburg than you might think.

At Moose Creek Creative, we created a place where people of all ages can put down the screens, make something with their hands and enjoy spending time together.

Located at 365 W Main Street in Rexburg, our DIY creative studio offers activities for toddlers, kids, teens, college students and adults. Some activities are scheduled events, but many of our projects are available as walk-in activities, making it easy to stop by when you're looking for something to do.

Here are some of the creative activities you'll find at Moose Creek Creative.

Toddler Activities in Rexburg

Finding an activity specifically designed for little kids can be tricky. That's why we created Toddler Time for our littlest makers, ages 2–5.

Toddler Time is a 45-minute creative experience built around a children's story and a coordinating hands-on project.

Instead of expecting toddlers to sit through a complicated craft, projects are designed so little hands can actually participate. Depending on the week, kids might glue, paint, use dot markers, add stickers, explore different textures or create a seasonal project to take home.

A grown-up attends with each child, making Toddler Time a fun morning activity for parents, grandparents and caregivers too.

Our September Toddler Time dates include:

September 16, Little Blue Truck
We'll read Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle and create a Little Blue Truck collage complete with a country road, farm animals and plenty of muddy dot-marker splashes.

September 23, Fall Leaves
We'll read The Leaf Thief by Alice Hemming and create a colorful fall leaf suncatcher using tissue paper and other toddler-friendly materials.

Toddler Time is $5 per child.

New stories and projects will be added throughout the season, so families can come back and experience something different.

Kids Activities in Rexburg

For bigger kids, the possibilities get even larger.

Our Creative Studio is designed to let kids choose a project that interests them instead of requiring everyone to make exactly the same thing.

Kids can browse the studio, pick their project and customize it with their own colors and details.

Projects change throughout the year and include plenty of options for different ages and interests.

The best part?

You don't have to wait for a scheduled class.

Our regular Creative Studio is available during studio hours, so families can stop in when it works for their schedule.

That makes it especially handy when you're searching for:

  • An after-school activity in Rexburg
  • Something to do on a Saturday
  • Indoor activities when the Idaho weather isn't cooperating
  • Activities for visiting grandchildren
  • Family night ideas
  • A creative reward or special outing
  • Something to do during school breaks

Kids get the fun of making something themselves, and parents don't have to buy an entire package of craft supplies that will live in the closet for the next six years.

Build Your Own Slime at the Slime Bar

For kids who would rather mix than paint, there's the Moose Creek Creative Slime Bar.

Guests create their own custom slime by choosing their slime style and then customizing it with scents, mix-ins and charms.

Our slime options include favorites such as:

Thick & Glossy
Classic, stretchy slime with that satisfying glossy texture.

Butter Slime
Soft and smooth with a dough-like feel.

Clear Slime
Perfect for colorful mix-ins and charms.

Cloud Slime
Soft, fluffy and fun to stretch and drizzle.

A slime experience is $12 and includes the slime plus two add-ins and one charm.

It's an easy activity for siblings, friends and families because everyone can create something completely different.

And yes, adults are absolutely allowed to make slime too. We won't judge.

Creative Activities for Tweens & Teens

Tweens and teenagers can be a notoriously difficult audience when you're trying to plan an outing.

They're a little old for the playground, but spending another afternoon staring at a phone isn't exactly memorable either.

Creative projects give teens something social to do while still letting them make the experience their own.

At Moose Creek Creative, teens can paint DIY projects, build custom slime, design accessories, create custom keyboard clickers, explore seasonal projects and attend special workshops.

It's an easy option for:

  • Friend groups
  • Birthday outings
  • Mother-daughter days
  • Youth groups
  • FHE activities
  • School-break activities
  • Something different to do after school

They leave with something they actually made, which beats another afternoon of saying, "I don't know, what do you want to do?"

Harvest Break Camp and Kids Camps in Rexburg

School breaks have a funny way of arriving before parents have figured out what everyone is going to do.

Throughout the year, Moose Creek Creative offers special kids camps and school-break activities featuring projects that go beyond our regular studio offerings.

Our upcoming Harvest Break Camp runs September 28 through October 1 from 9:00–11:00 AM.

Kids ages 8+ will spend four mornings creating hands-on projects while exploring different materials and creative techniques.

We'll continue adding seasonal camps and special activities throughout the year, including opportunities during school breaks and holidays.

Workshops in Rexburg

Sometimes you want more than a drop-in project.

Our scheduled creative workshops give guests the chance to complete special projects with guidance from our team.

Workshops rotate throughout the year and feature seasonal and specialty projects that aren't always available in the regular studio.

You might find projects using wood, crushed glass, resin, seasonal décor and other materials.

Our workshops are designed to be approachable even if you don't consider yourself particularly crafty.

You don't need to walk in knowing exactly what you're doing.

That's what we're here for.

Adult Activities in Rexburg

Moose Creek Creative definitely isn't just for kids.

Adults need hobbies too.

Our Creative Studio and workshops make an easy alternative when you're looking for something to do besides dinner or a movie.

Bring your spouse, a friend, your mom, your sisters or the whole group.

Creative activities work especially well for:

Date Nights
Make separate projects or work on something for your home together.

Girls' Nights
Grab your friends and spend an evening talking, laughing and creating.

College Activities
BYU-Idaho students can stop in with roommates, dates or FHE groups without needing to plan an elaborate activity.

Mother-Daughter Days
Choose projects together and make something you'll both keep.

Group Activities
Creative projects make it easy for everyone to participate, even when your group includes people with completely different interests.

And no artistic talent is required.

Really.

If your last major artistic achievement involved crayons and construction paper, you'll still fit right in.

Date Night Ideas in Rexburg

If you've reached the point where "What should we do tonight?" automatically means choosing a restaurant, it might be time to switch things up.

A creative date gives you something to do while you talk, which makes it particularly fun for both new couples and couples who have been together for years.

Choose a project, sit together and create at your own pace.

You might discover that your spouse is secretly artistic.

You might also discover that handing your spouse a paintbrush was a terrible mistake.

Either way, you'll have a story.

Family Activities in Rexburg

One of our favorite things about a creative studio is that different ages can participate together.

A younger child might choose a simple project while an older sibling tackles something more detailed. Mom might make seasonal décor. Dad might unexpectedly become extremely invested in getting his color exactly right.

Everyone can make something different while still spending the afternoon together.

That's why Moose Creek Creative works especially well for multi-generational family outings.

Bring the kids.

Bring Grandma.

Bring Grandpa.

Creativity doesn't have an age limit.

Indoor Activities for Rexburg Weather

Anyone who lives in Eastern Idaho knows outdoor plans occasionally meet their match.

Wind.

Snow.

Cold.

More wind.

And sometimes all three before lunch.

Having an indoor activity that doesn't depend on the weather makes planning much easier.

Moose Creek Creative is open year-round, giving families, students and adults another option when you're searching for indoor things to do in Rexburg.

No Reservation? No Problem.

One of the things we wanted to make different about Moose Creek Creative was the ability to be spontaneous.

You don't have to register for a workshop every time you want to create.

Our regular Creative Studio and Slime Bar welcome walk-ins, so you can stop by, choose something that looks fun and start creating.

Scheduled programs such as Toddler Time, camps and specialty workshops have designated dates and times, while the Creative Studio gives you much more flexibility.
